Electrical Engineer – MEP Engineering
Location: Freehold, NJ
Responsibilities (in order of importance):
· Under the direction of Sr Engineer / Sr Designer, actively
participates in many phases of a project, including, but not limited to:
site investigations; CAD production; design and contract documents; basic
specifications; and the construction administration process.
· Responsible for those design tasks assigned, and for quality of
work in developing final construction documents from established concept
designs or Design Development drawings.
· Participates where requested in client interface and meetings.
· Interfaces with other disciplines within the MEP team for
coordination, as well as the other disciplines and studios in the firm.
Communicates with Job Captain as necessary.
· Ability to work within established budgets
· Heavy production load
· Engineering tasks (with varying responsibilities dependent upon
project magnitude and experience) include, but are not limited to, the
following:
o Design drafting of construction documents using AutoCAD
o Lighting and power circuitry
o Voltage calculations and conductor / raceway sizing
o Short Circuit calculations
o Lighting layouts, fixture specifications, schedules and
calculations; lighting control
o Electrical distribution design and single line preparation
o Utility coordination
o Code review
o Fire Alarm system design and layout
o Low voltage system layouts including data, communications, sound,
security
o Preparation of specifications
o Emergency and life safety systems
o Energy code analyses
· Goal of 85% chargeable minimum
Experience / Qualifications / Requirements
· 4 Years Engineering experience, 2 years minimum Industry
experience in a design capacity
· BS Engineering discipline
· PE Registration
· Demonstrated ability to provide quality construction documents
working in a production and basic design role, achieving satisfaction from
Senior staff.
· Strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of software
· Computer proficiency, strong in MS Office programs (Word, Excel,
Outlook) as well as production related software and equipment
· Reasonable communication skills – verbal and written
